i have a 2000 type-r with a drag 3 turbo, front mounted intercooler, tial wastegate set at 4 1/2 psi (dump tube to atmosphere), clutch net stage 2 clutch, zigen exhaust. my problem is whp was 225 and torque was 140 (at 4 1/2 psi). i was wondering if it was low, and if there was something i could do besides just turn up the boost. i was expecting 260 whp and around 200 torque.

lemme help you...
your problem is not in your hardware....because your setup rocks.....
except for one thing....
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU RUNNING 4.5 PSI for?
=) up the boost sir.
that's all i have to say...u'll love it.
my teammate's 15psi t3/t4 gsr hits 11s and puts down over 300whp....he burns out when he downshifts going 65 on the highway....beelieve me...it's sick.

put it up to at least 6psi....stock gsr internals should be able to hang with 8psi..
open up the flow.....then try again..lemme kno how it goes

when the shop did the dyno run (right after install of turbo) they set it at 4 1/2 i plan on running 6 psi. i was just wondering becuase the numbers seem very low i have heard of people with type-r's having 260 whp at 5 psi

If you're gonna crank it up, get some gauges to monitor the fuel delivery.

the gauges i have now are boost gauge and A/F guage but i don't have a wide band O2 sensor yet. i plan on getting a fuel presure gauge or a EGT gauge. i don't think it would be safe to go above 7 psi considering 10.6 to compression. my main question is are these numbers low or are they right on. thank you to everyone who has responded

I think 225 at only 4.5 psi is pretty good. Get an EGT guage and fuel pressure if you're using a rising rate setup.

hey, nice name.take it from someone who has blown one up a few times.DO NOT turn up the boost without taking precautionary measures first.get a thicker head gasket to lower compression(very important).and apexi afc for tunning.my car, after i changed pistons to 9:1,made 253 hp at 8 psi.i was running 6-8 psi before it blew up(stock internals)and it felt more like 300 hp.

Just be glad your running with that much whp at 4.5psi of boost. Some JRSC typeR owner's can barely break the 200whp threshold.
